ConnexFM2024 Submission Review and Selection Process 

The selection process involves a review of every complete presentation submitted prior to the deadline. Completed submissions include content leader (speaker) profiles (i.e. bio, photo, credentials, contact information) for each session content leader, session descriptions, and actionable learning objectives.

All presentations are selected based on the information submitted. Those submitting are expected to follow all instructions carefully and provide all requested information. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. Proper grammar, punctuation, etc., is also looked at during this process.

Typically, we receive a high volume of presentations for ConnexFM's National Conference, surpassing the number of slots available for acceptance. As a result, only the most outstanding presentations are chosen for inclusion in the conference program.

Please keep in mind ConnexFM has a non-commercialization policy.

ConnexFM educational experiences are not an opportunity to promote a brand or sell a product or service.

ConnexFM2024 Content Selection Criteria

Presentation submissions are evaluated on the following criteria:

  1. Complete presentation submission, submitted by the deadline.

  2. Session learning level is appropriate for the audience and topic.

  3. Identification of three actionable learner outcomes that follow the sentence: After participating in this session, attendees will be able to:

  4. Presentation is designed to encourage high audience interaction/participation.

    • Presentation – Must be designed to include 40 minutes of presentation content with key tips, solutions, and takeaways.

    • Postscript Discussions – Presentation will be followed by an activity facilitated by the content leader, 20 minutes in length, where attendees discuss in small group discussions and/or participate in Q&A facilitated by the presenter so that learners can apply and share what they have learned.

  5. Content is focused, tailored, current, practical, or innovative.

  6. Note for Suppliers – If you are an industry supplier submitting a proposal, you will not be considered to present unless you are a ConnexFM member. We strongly encourage you to include a facility manager as a co-presenter.

  7. External Speaker Policy – An External Speaker refers to a speaker who is not a member of ConnexFM and has a commercial interest and who is considered as a potential supplier member. External Speakers will not be considered eligible to present to a formal ConnexFM audience except in the following situations:

    • External Speaker is a professional speaker and primary business is speaking.

    • External Speaker has a reciprocal partnership that exists between ConnexFM and said speaker/organization.

    • External Speaker is a nonmember exhibitor/supplier who has paid to attend ConnexFM2024 as a non-exhibiting supplier.

Content designed to expand and strengthen one’s business acumen as well as personal skills and transform them into actionable insights that positively impact work and personal life.

Content providing objective analysis and independent views and insights on trending facility management subjects. (Examples: ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), industry standards and certifications, outsourcing and partnerships, asset management, inflation, supply chain management, security and risk management, and others)

Tech Innovations:

Content designed to explore the intersection of technology and facility management and deliver a comprehensive understanding of digital advancements and cutting-edge solutions that are revolutionizing the way facilities are managed and operated.

Foundations of Skilled Trades Excellence:

Content focused on the fundamental principles that underpin excellence in the skilled trades. Content should be designed to equip both seasoned professionals and newcomers with the essential knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to thrive within the different trades.

DEMO Lab:

Live demonstrations offering a unique interactive experience with the ability to witness practical applications, real-time problem-solving, cutting-edge techniques, and best practices that bring concepts to life. Live demonstrations should be skilled trade or technology focused.

ConnexFM2024 Session Delivery Formats

These sessions will be delivered onsite, in-person, at the Gaylord Opryland, in session workshop rooms.

 

Presentation: Must be designed to include 40 minutes of presentation content with key tips, solutions, and takeaways.

  • Postscript Discussions: Presentation will be followed by an activity facilitated by the content leader, 20 minutes in length, where attendees discuss in small group discussions and/or participate in Q&A facilitated by the presenter so that learners can apply and share what they have learned.

 

Quick-Bite Sessions: These 20-minute rapid learning sessions will include top tips and tricks with a fast based delivery in a Top 10 Tips & Tricks format. These session offerings are limited.

DEMO Lab: These 60-minute interactive experiences must be designed to deliver a live presentation for 45 minutes with key tips, best practices, solutions, and takeaways. The remaining 15 minutes should be reserved for fostering audience interaction, questions, and hands-on engagement with the demonstration.

ConnexFM2024 Learning Level Definitions

These sessions will be delivered onsite, in-person, at the Gaylord Opryland, in session workshop rooms.

 

Fundamentals (Administrative – Coordinator – Student): New to the industry or need a refresher? Fundamentals sessions will be introductory and allow for a basic understanding of the topic

 

Beyond Basics (Manager – Director): Ready for a deeper dive? Intermediary, Beyond Basics sessions will explore topics at a deeper level and provide more technical understanding.

Executive Edge (Director, Senior Executive, VP, C Level): Calling all decision-makers — this level will highlight the information attendees need to know to make crucial leadership business decisions.

Complete the ConnexFM2024 Call for Presentation Application and submit all ideas before the deadline.

Be prepared to include all session information and a photo of yourself.
